Football saved my Life
London Titans appeared in an episode of Reality series “Football saved my Life” on Bravo. Neil Ruddock attempted to make a star football team made up of 15 men whose lives are blighted by booze, bad diets, anger management issues and even depression.

GFSN League
London Titans appear to have turned a corner in their season. Having been on the end of a few large scoring defeats in the last few weeks, their win over Leftfooters on Saturday marked their second win in a row and marked their first victory in the GFSN league.
This, one of the friendlier derbys in football was played out on the neutral territory of Wandsworth Common. Conditions were not conducive for good football with a muddy pitch only just getting the referee’s approval. Despite the conditions, London Titans with their new 4-5-1 formation were quick to apply the pressure, creating a number of opportunities but converting only one before half time.
The second half followed a similar pattern with Titans dominating large portions of play and their persistence paid off with 2 further goals. Despite being 3-0 down, Leftfooters didn’t let their heads drop and their persistence was rewarded when with virtually the last kick of the match they grabbed a consolation goal, capitalising on Titans failure to clear the ball from their mud bath penalty.
The Titans’ victory on Saturday means that they go level with Leftfooters on points but the Leftfooters’ consolation goal ensures they stay above Titans on goal difference, one victory ahead of Birmingham Blaze who remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
Mark Baldan of Leftfooters commented after the match that his team could have no complaints with the result but felt that his team with an average age of 39.4 had performed well against a team with a much lower average age. However, ironically it was Titans oldest player, Richard Nixon (aged 37) Titans leading goal scorer who inflicted the damage on the Leftfooters with his two superbly executed goals.
Ed Connell, manager of the London Titans puts his team’s change in fortunes down to hard training and the fact that his team have begun to gel with a succession of games. “I hope that our win over London Romans last week and Leftfooters will spur us on to better things in the GFSN Cup and the second half of the season.”
