Notice of London Titans’ AGM
This is to let everyone know that the London Titans AGM will be held on Wednesday 25th June at 8.00pm, venue tbc but likely to a pub in central London.
It is really important that everyone who is a Member turns up as this is your chance to have your say and in the running of the Club, not least in the election of the new Committee. If you are unsure as to whether you are a Member please contact Joseph McAuley, Membership Secretary.
At the AGM each Committee member will present a report on their area of responsibility and you will have the chance to ask any of the Committee members questions. This provided for some lively discussions last year. In addition, any Member may submit a motion for debate at the AGM. This must be to me in writing (e-mail is acceptable) before 5pm Wednesday 18th June.
On the subject of Committee elections we need nominations for people who want to stand on next year’s Committee. Any nominee must be a Full Member and be nominated by a Full Member of the Club and seconded by another. Nominations are to be in writing to me before 5pm Wednesday 18th June.
The Committee positions are as follows:
· Chairman
· Manager
· Treasurer
· Secretary
· Sponsorship Rep
· GFSN Rep
· Membership and Recruitment Rep
· Social Secretary
· Coach
Summaries of each of the position’s responsibilities are given in the Constitution which is on the website. The only thing I would ask is that anyone who wants to stand should be comfortable that they can devote enough time to fulfilling the role they are standing for. On the suggestion of one member I’d also like to propose a “job share” scheme where, if two people want to cover a role together, then that is fine, although under the terms of the Constitution one of you will have to officially stand for election to the post.
I’ll issue an agenda a week before the AGM including details of who’s standing for election and those posts where we need to extend the nomination period per the Constitution. At that point I’ll also open up proxy votes to Full Members who can’t make the actual meeting itself.
That’s all for now; if you’ve any further questions please ask (or consult the Constitution).
Andrew.
Club Secretary.
