London Titans 2 – 2 Stonewall 3rds – London Unity Football League
Another gutsy performance by the Titans London Unity League team last Sunday saw them come from behind twice to gain an excellent draw against a technically superior Stonewall side. Read the rest of this entry »
Titans triumphant in their own Birthday Tournament
A successful London Titans 3rd Birthday Tournament was won by one of the two Titans side that had entered. The players that made up the Titans sides were drawn out of a hat and therefore it is testiment to the strength of the current squad that both sides performed well with Titans 2 ultimately winning the Tournament.
The Tournament proved to be hightly successful with seven teams taking part, five of the six gay clubs in London were represented with Titans (two), Leftfooters (two), Romans, Phoenix and Stonewall entering teams. It was an exciting tournament, played in great spirit (not a single card shown in the 21 matches) with the identity of the eventual winners not known until the 21st and final match. Titans 2 went into that final match against Stonewall level on points with Romans but with a slightly superior goal difference. As long as they didn’t lose by more than 1 goal then title was theirs. In a tense match both sides had chances to score but it finished goalless and Titans 2 were the winners.
Afterwards the teams celebrated the Titans 3rd Birthday in style at the Clubs sponsors, West 5, where the London Titans 2009 calendar was also launched.

Titans 2 – 4 Falcons – GFSN League
This was one of the best football matches I had seen in a long time. GFSN Champions, Falcons, were totally outplayed for an hour and were lucky not to be more than 2-0 down, but Falcons are League Champions and fought back superbly to take the honours in this keenly fought derby. Titans v London Falcons – GFSN National League – Sunday 12 October 2pm
At the start of each season this is the fixture both the players of Titans and Falcons look for, such is the local rivalry between the two clubs and it takes place this Sunday at Old Deer Park.
Last season Falcons took the GFSN by storm and are the current champions but started their defence of their title with a home defeat. Titans also started with a home defeat so something has to give on Sunday. These are always competitive encounters which and made even more so this time as several Falcon players joined Titans at the start of this season. Last season Falcons won 4-1 so the Titans will be looking for revenge.
So if you want to see this SW London gay football derby make your way to Old Deer Park on Sunday, kick off is 2pm and it will be fierce, not for the faint hearted. After the match there will be food and drinks at West 5, Popes Lane, Ealing.
